How To Complete Castula And Trifon's Quests In Blasphemous 2

Aug 25, 2023

These bickering siblings have some interesting quests and a related achievement in Blasphemous 2.

Blasphemous 2 has a large number of side quests for you to take on. While the game doesn't employ a quest log of any kind, it's quite easy to remember which characters have quests for you by their cryptic, hint-laden dialogue and often grotesque appearances and situations.

One such quest deals with two bickering siblings, Cástula and Trifón. This pair can be found in the Palace of the Embroideries, with only one half of the pair seeming alive, depending on which side of their room you enter through. They each desire an item, and they are linked to a peculiar achievement.

When you speak to Trifón, you'll learn that he desires his sister's head scarf. You'll have to travel quite a long way to find it, though. It's in one of the other starter dungeons: the Sacred Entombments.

To acquire this item, you'll need to complete a platforming challenge on the screen to the right of the topmost Prie Dieu. You'll need to first unlock this by walking through the ghostly door to the right after hitting the bell in the chasm with Veredicto. You'll only have a short amount of time to do this!

You will require Veredicto and Sarmiento & Centella to complete this challenge!

Once you're in the area to the right of the Prie Dieu and have dealt with the second ghostly door that you can remove, you'll need to use Veredicto and Sarmiento & Centella to platform up to the top of the screen.

Watch the video below to see how this platforming challenge is done.

Like Cástula's head scarf, you'll find Trifón's manuscript in another of the three starter dungeons. This time, it's the Crown of Towers.

From the Prie Dieu at the entrance to the area, head a few screens to the right until you reach an area with platforms that form a staircase to an upper platform. Climb up to find a statue. Interact with this, and the platforms will all rise to form a line - quickly make your way across this to reach a vertical shaft with climbable walls on either side.

Climb the walls, avoiding the fire moving through the shaft to reach a ledge. Here, you'll find Trifón's Scroll of the Elder.

Once you have either of the key items requested by the siblings in hand, you can head back to the Palace of the Embroideries to return them. Remember that you'll need to enter the siblings' room from a particular side to return an item.

The issue here is that once you have completed the quest for one sibling, you functionally cannot complete the other sibling's quest. They will, instead, remain dead no matter which side of the room you enter from.

Don't fret, however! You can still obtain the other sibling's Remembrance. You'll need to head to the shopkeeper who resides in the Forlorn Patio, which is found directly to the west of the top level of the Street of Wakes.

Here, you'll be able to purchase the remaining Remembrance for a measly 6,000 Tears of Atonement.

Take these Remembrances to the Master Sculptor and he'll give you the respective Altarpieces.

Trifón's Altarpiece increases your damage when you're low on health, while Cástula's increases your damage when you are low on guilt.

There is an achievement for Blasphemous 2 called Two Old Ones Eating Soup that has a description that implies Cástula and Trifón can be reunited.

To obtain this achievement, you will first have to obtain both siblings' Altarpieces - the process for achieving this is detailed just above.

Once you have both, place the two Altarpieces in the same section of your Altar, with the siblings facing each other. They will not have a Resonance or particularly useful traits, but doing this will unlock the achievement.

Sadly, this is the only way to reunite the two siblings, despite their grief.
