Paolo Sebastian is delighted to announce its long-awaited foray into ready-to-wear, with a collection of luxury shoes and scarves – an homage to the celebrated fifteen-year history of the couture label.

The seven-piece Italian-made shoe line centres around the iconic Swan Lake Ballet Pump, a heel that Paul Vasileff, Creative Designer and Director, says has been with him from the very beginning.

“We had our Swan Lake collection launch in 2011, and that was when we first introduced the shoe on therunway. Everyone kept asking about it, but it was essentially me taking a simple, ordinary pump and tweaking it: I would just find a shoe, dye it, and then add the ribbon,”.

The ribbon – which is now the signature feature of the shoe line – is tied around the ankle to create a dramatic but elegant look.

“The heel is made to be versatile,” Vasileff continues. “You can keep it simple with the base ankle strap, or interchange it with the ribbon. I love that you can choose to wear it in more ways than one,”.

Featuring a 10cm stiletto heel, each shoe is handcrafted in Italy, a decision Vasileff made early on. “Italy is the epicentre of exceptional craftsmanship,” says Vasileff, “and it was incredibly important to us that we created something beautiful, as well as beautifully made. We went to the finest atelier and spent over a year developing every detail,”.

Available in Silk, Mesh, and Embellished Mesh, and in a delicate colour palette synonymous with thedesigner’s dreamy couture, there is a Swan Lake ballet pump for everyone.

“Creating the layered tulle mesh was a natural choice, because we were excited to bring customers the same illusion tulle they know so well from our gowns.”

A similar familiarity is also true of the nine-piece scarf collection, with each scarf inspired and named after one of five iconic couture collections from the past fifteen years: Nightingale, Nutcracker, Persephone, East of the Sun and West of the Moon, and Wildflowers.

The four square scarves and five twilly scarves represent the essence of each collection.

“This was another opportunity to reflect on our journey,” remarks Vasileff, “and I was immediately drawn to those moments in time that were not only significant but sentimental. For example, the carousel embroidery dress from The Nutcracker, or the graceful songbird from The Nightingale, which has become a symbol of the house,”.

“The scarves are an opportunity for customers to weave the Paolo Sebastian dream into their everyday life – and same with the shoes. It doesn’t matter if you pair the ballet pump with a dress or jeans, or if you tie the scarf around your neck or bag or wrist, everyone deserves their own piece of magic, and a chance to wear a couture piece that makes them feel beautiful,”.

“This is truly an extension of our brand and the timing just felt right. I’m so thrilled it is finally here”.

Both collections are available to purchase from www.paolosebastian.com from today, withpricing ranging from $180 to $1290.
